Moral Arguments Christian morality is demonstrably subjective, with each inventing a list of morals they claim their god wants, and yet the poor dears can't show that their god merely exists, much less agrees with them. They also have the problem that they must insist that their god doesn't have to follow these supposedly "objective" morals since they have to invent excuses why it is okay for this god to commit genocide, to kill people for the actions of others, etc. This makes their morality subjective to who someone is. it also shows their morality is little more than might equals right. Resurrection Arguments No evidence for jesus christ, much less the cruxifiction and resurrection. Curious how no one noticed any certain day where there was a major earthquake, the sky darkening and dead jews wandering the streets of roman-occupied Jerusalem during a passover. New Testament Arguments These also fail. Many copies of lies doesn't make the lies true.

Dr. Michael Heiser writes a much better account on the story of the Flood and Noah than Walton does. I suggest his books rather than Walton's. I have both author's complete sets. Dr. Heiser is a strong believer in the INERRANCY of Scripture, unlike Walton. Heiser is considered a more conservative theologian than Walton in every way possible. Walton seems to like to mix conjecture, personal philosophy and metaphysics in his interpretations way over the top!

Maier is terrific, the best historian to speak authoritatively about the life of Jesus!

By the end of lecture, the take away seemed to be, it doesn't matter whether the flood was global or not. The point of the story is to show God's desire for a creation in which His holiness could reside. A corrupt and violent world is inhospitable to His purposes therefore He had to start over with Noah's righteous family. The issue of global or regional does not affect the reality of God's plan of salvation.

He goes off the rails when he gets to 2 Corinthians 11. Paul’s addressing Christians and warning against false teaching and bad theology. That’s so they can be presented as a pure bride. Clearly that is not teaching demon possession. Doctrinal purity is important not to keep your own faith but so that you can teach your children and your neighbor about the true Way. The bride still has not yet been presented to Christ so Paul was clearly not saying they would be an impure bride. Impure doctrine slowly fills churches with unsaved people thus over time they are not a pure bride. Also, Jesus seems to think scripture worked well against demonic attack in Mathew 4. It is written, it is written, it is written. Bible reading, prayer, and scripture memorization is good enough for Jesus so it’s good enough for me. On the case of demon possession, Jesus said this kind does not go out but by prayer and fasting. Jesus is the secret sauce and he is the incarnate Word.
